곰취 곤달비 는쟁이냉이 명이  

베어 마운틴, 이 먼 곳에서도 

고향 뒷산에서 보던 것들이 핀다 

꽃다지 지칭개 보리뱅이 큰개별꽃 

눈 맞추며 산 오르는 아침

부러진 나뭇가지가

길을 가로막는다 

등산지팡이로 건드리자 

번개 빛보다 빠르게 직감하는 동물성이 

몸을 늘려 달아난다 뱀 저 배암,

동물성은 식물성보다 언제나 길다

동물성에서 축출한 식물성이 툭, 

건드리기만 했는데 한 치의 망설임 없이

본성으로 회귀하는 것을 보라

죽은 것처럼

버림받은 것처럼 

인생 바닥을 찍은 가지인 것처럼 

식물성 보호색을 뒤집어쓰고

피해자 코스프레 하더니 탄로나자

동물성을 배양한 식물성이

몸을 S 자로 휘고

꿈틀꿈틀 꼬리를 흔들며 

산꽃 개꽃 메꽃 참꽃 

순하고 예쁜 이름의 식물 위를 

스스스슥-

밟고 지나간다

Ragwort, narrow-headed ragwort, shepherd's purse, victory onion - 

Even in distant Bear Mountain these plants flower which I saw on the hill in the back of my home village.

On the morning whitlow grass, lyre-shaped bunge, hawk's beard, and false-starwort

nod to one another, broken branches block my path as I climb up the mountain.

As I poke branches with my hiking stick,

The animal nature, which senses things more quickly than lightning flashes, escapes,

stretching its body. Snake, that snake!

Animal nature is always longer than plant nature.

Look! The plant nature extracted from animal nature, when provoked,

returns to its original nature without the slightest hesitation.

Covering its body with protective coloring of plant nature,

pretending to have been harmed, as if dead and abandoned, looking like branches

which had hit the bottom of life, 

The plant nature that had nurtured animal nature, being detected, 

twists its body to look like the letter S, and shaking its twirling tail, treads swishingly 

over plants whose names sound gentle and cute like grape fern, camomile, blind weed, and rhododendron.
